Throwing Off Eve's Burden

Today I woke
with heavy blankets -
Eve's burden -
my rage and sorrow,
a need for
a new medicine.

It is no time for sleeping
anymore outside of the garden.

It is time for our freedom -
the sisters, the brothers.

So, if I can get out
of this bed
I will grieve.

Grieve.

I will grieve
until spring comes,
throw off these blankets
and weave -
our new tapestry,
for men and for women.

And you will help me
deep dreaming weavers -
before eternity
takes forever -

with your self regard,
your deep love
and your soft eyes
full of tears.
